10 Fun Games to Play with your Dog

Playing games with your pet is a great way connect with your dog, mentally stimulate your pet, burn some energy and just have some fun!

1. Hide and Seek:

Playing hide and seek with your dog can be a lot of fun and very exciting for your pet. A couple of variations you can play with 1 or 2 people are as follows:

With 1 person, you can put your dog in a sit/stay, go hide and then call your pet to find you and give them a treat.

Or if you want to play with 2 people you could go and hide, call the dog to you and when your pet finds you, you would give your pup a treat. As your pet is finding you and getting their treat, the 2nd person can go hide, call the dog, hand out a treat while you go and hide again, etc.

(You may want to make your hiding place easier at the beginning of the game so your dog understands how to play and doesn’t get too frustrated looking for you).

2. Fetch:

Fetch can be a fun game to play with your pet – especially if you have a high energy dog.

To play, you can throw a toy, ball, stick or frisbee and wait for your pet to bring it back to you so you can throw it again.

If you would like to launch a ball further than you can throw it, you could try a manual ball launcher to add some distance.
